I visited Kruger National Park in South Africa a few years ago.  I really enjoyed going on safari for three days there.  The morning drive was the best, especially since we saw a leopard.  We actually got to see all of the Big Five during the trip because of seeing the leopard and rhino on the morning drive, but most of our group was too lazy to get up early and they sure missed out on the best viewing.

That is one thing that confuses me about some tourists, they happily shell out thousands of dollars for a trip and do not get their moneys worth. I would have happily gotten up early to just see the wonderful sites. I absolutely love seeing other parts of the world, just because you can experience things that you can not experience in your own back yard.

Well, it was a student trip and it technically did not cost more than $1,000 for our three week trip on top of the normal tuition for the semester program we were in.  As for not taking in the whole experience I do not get it either, but getting up early certainly was not an interest of my fellow classmates ever.  However, I have always been a morning person and not a night person, but I still stayed up late to do the night ride.

Ahh that certainly explains why they didn't want to get up early. This three week trip was basically a vacation away from school. Been there done that plenty of times. I definitely admire the travel abroad programs many schools offer. This is what got me into traveling, a tour through Europe was breathtaking and I learned so much, and it was so much fun trying to talk to locals (everyone that took this trip was either in German or French class). Little trips like these really boost student morale.

The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. The park has 9 main gates that allow entrance to the different camps. It  is divided into six eco-systems.For the ultimate South Africa safari experience and sightseeing, choose from a range of standard to luxury safari and game lodges in and around the Kruger National Park area.
